Wordpress captcha

While I have in the past had a WordPress Captcha plugin, I now just use the inbuilt Akismet system. It captures most of the spam - so much of it. And by not using a Captcha, I make it easier for people to post.

Even though the rel=nofollow should be a disincentive for people and bots to post, the spam still keeps coming.

I had used the Wordpress captcha plugin from nio.infor96.com but had issues with it.

Hmmm. That captcha has created some problems on my blog. Getting a nasty error.

So I have now got myself a wordpress api key, and activated the Akismet system. Will be interesting to see how well that works.

This captcha is useless, I think.

There’s one called ReCAPTCHA. It works remotely, but it works very well for stopping bots on my wordpress… It’s free though and aims to build a library of human-readable CAPTCHA terms.

I’m trying to find another for a friend, but now I think I will avoid the one linked above.
